RNC Chairman Michael Steele vowed to reclaim North Carolina on Monday while introducing a new fundraising television advertisement.
He also stated that:
Nancy Pelosi and President Obama and Harry Reid have certainly lost their mind when it comes to spending the people's money.
That is pretty funny, because I think some people have said the same thing about Steele when it comes to the RNC's money.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) distanced himself from the RNC fundraising presentation released by Politico last week. In the wake of the release, the RNC attempted to downplay the controversy. McConnell is the latest high-profile politician to disagree, stating, "I don't like and I don't know anybody who does."
I didn't think the presentation, standing alone, would cost anyone their job. This might.
The fundraising presentation causing quite a stir up in Washington, D.C., appears to be a little less controversial among Republicans across the country. According to several top Republicans, referring to Obama as a socialist is absolutely a strategy heading into the 2010 elction cycle.
Rob Bickhart is the RNC official that was behind the embarassing fundraising presentation released last week. He is also the subject of another discussion regarding the RNC's lavish spending since RNC Chairman Michael Steele took over. According to reports, Bickhart has received more than $370,000 in less than one year from the RNC. All told, he is expected to earn more than $500,000 for a years work. That doesn't sit well with party donors.

In GUAM. Is this more payback in exchange for supporting Michael Steele during the RNC Chairman election? I could think of a few more important locations to hold training seminars, and the results might actually help yield gains in the Senate and House in November.
