"Geert Wilders Shocks the Netherlands on Election Day — Will He Get To Lead?"

June 11, 2010 by Richard E. Coleson

"The Netherlands is considered a left-liberal country, but in reality it is evenly divided between left and right. The elections of June 9 indicate a slight tilt to the right, which in itself is not a dramatic event: on many occasions in the past the right had a small majority. But media outlets are reporting the outcome of the elections as a huge change in Dutch society.

"It is not. It changed ten years ago."

The Death of Free Speech

February 12, 2010 by Barry Bostrom

The idea that intentionally offending someone is a criminal offense should be a matter for Kafka or comic opera, but such is the advance of multiculturalism in the Netherlands today, and the rest of Europe is not all that far behind. Geert Wilders, the Dutch Parliamentarian who produced the film Fitna, went on trial January 20 for charges including having “intentionally offended a group of people, i.e. Muslims.” Political correctness is always an attack on free speech. MORE

"The Railroading of Geert Wilders"

February 9, 2010 by Richard E. Coleson

"The Stalinist-show-trial aspect of the Geert Wilders 'hate speech' trial in the Netherlands was thrown into sharp relief last week when the Amsterdam District Court refused to allow Wilders to call fifteen of the eighteen witnesses he had hoped to bring forward in his defense. "Muslim Group Shuts Down Conservative Conference"

May 29, 2009 by Richard E. Coleson

"The manager of a prominent Nashville hotel cancelled a contract with a conservative foundation to hold a conference this weekend on radical Islam, apparently after learning that the group would feature a keynote address by controversial Dutch parliamentarian and filmmaker, Geert Wilders. Muslim groups succeeded in preventing Wilders from screening Fitna, his 15-minute movie on radical Islam, in the House of Lords this February, on claims it was insulting to Muslims, and dogged him during a recent U.S. Read more »

Florida GOP Leader Defends Free Speech Against CAIR Criticism

April 27, 2009 by Richard E. Coleson

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) insists that Florida GOP leaders demand that Rep. Adam Hasner step down from his leadership post for co-hosting a "Free Speech Summit" at which Dutch politician Geert Wilders was a featured speaker. Wilders has drawn Muslim ire for supporting the right of Dutch newspapers to freedom of the press concerning Muslim activities, including the publishing of political cartoons about Islam.
