I thought it was a little ironic that the Democrats where getting all upset about Michael Steele's comments about the war on Afghanistan, especially because some of them were making comments similar to Steele back when President Bush was in the White House. Well, it appears some of their own are starting to call them on it.
It is the main reason the story about RNC spending was a non-starter. But at the end of the day, these stories are why so many rank-and-file members of the RNC feel that their leaders are out of touch with the base of the party. Many of us back home in the heartland are suffering in the current economy, yet our leaders are still running around holding fancy meetings in New York and Hawaii.
They give the party flexibility, but also result in a loss of oversight and control over spending. CreditCards.com discusses the dilemna.

Look, the story about the Los Angeles night club makes for great punch lines on Leno and Letterman. SNL will probably come up with a genius spoof. The Democrats prepared the statement, calling for an end to the violent response to health care. Republicans have repeatedly denounced any violence and feel that the statement is unnecessary. I agree, this is just a move by the Democrats to try and shift the focus away from health care.
The RNC has outraised the DNC for the second straight month, but the Democrats still have more cash on hand leading into November. This could hamper the efforts to take back Congress in November and to hold Democrats accountable for the health care reform vote last night.
Word that the DNC is looking to amend their primary schedule and to de-emphasize the role that party elites play in the process.
Looks like the DNC is up to their dirty tricks again. Reports are suggesting that the DNC has already pulled ads that began airing over the Labor Day weekend that suggested that several members of Congress "voted to abolish Medicare." The non-partisan FactCheck.org says otherwise.
